In the first week, participants will gain a strong understanding of first aid concepts and medical emergency response. The course will cover the basics of first aid, including its importance, legal considerations, and essential medical terminology. Students will also learn how to perform CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) on adults, children, and infants. The week continues with lessons on recognizing and managing common medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, and diabetic conditions. In addition, participants will study wound care, including bandaging techniques and how to manage fractures and burns. The week concludes with emergency action planning and developing the skills to assess and respond to medical emergencies effectively.
The second week focuses on hands-on practice, allowing participants to apply their theoretical knowledge in realistic scenarios. This includes CPR training using mannequins, along with the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Students will also practice using first aid kits and medical equipment in emergency situations. Practical simulations will help participants develop skills in managing wounds, burns, fractures, and other injuries. Additionally, students will engage in emergency simulations for conditions like heart attacks and strokes to reinforce their response strategies. The week concludes with a final assessment, ensuring participants can demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, earning them certification upon successful completion.
